In 2014 X-Cell Precision and a local optics vendor collaborated to bring to market an American made somatic cell imaging device designed to accept, and interface with various OEM Apple mobile devices, utilizing the existing camera optics, and incoporating additional integrated microscope technology in the device. 

 

The order was placed at 5,000 units of ten individual details. X-Cell Precision was able to offer superior cost, and quality to overseas competitors. Production has been maintained at 500 units per month, for the duration of the contract in order to accommodate successful production volume, and quality. An additional shift was added, and capital improvements were undertaken. the project's completion came in early 2015 with great success.
